10 Best Ways To Marinate A Steak. Using a grill to BBQ your steaks, try these different award winning ways to marinate your steak or steak rubs.
Marinating a steak is about flavor, not tenderizing.
Less tender cuts should be marinated for at least 6 hours, but no more than 24 hours. Tender cuts of beef, like a tenderloin, only need to be marinated for 15 minutes to 1 hour for flavor. Marinating hold the juices in the steak.
Place the marinade and meat in a sealed plastic bag or glass container so that the beef can “sit” in the liquid. Place in refrigerator to marinate anything over 30 minutes.
We recommend making 1/4 to 1/2 cup of marinade for each one to two pounds of beef.
Make a paste of Honey, Dijon mustard and garlic pepper.
Mix a package of French Onion soup with 2 cups water, and 1 cup coffee.

For a Mexican flare: marinate in a jar of salsa.

French onion soup.
Mixed brown sugar and mustard.
Italian salad dressing.
My husband loves McCormick’s Montreal Steak Seasoning.
Cover with yellow mustard and grill. Yes, I said mustard. It won’t taste at all like mustard, it will create a crust with the juiciest steak ever.
Homemade rub: 8 tablespoons light brown sugar tightly packed, 3 tablespoons kosher salt, 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1/2 teaspoon thyme (crushed), 1/2 teaspoon onion powder.
