Easy Layered Pineapple Cake. Dessert recipe that is tender, moist and delicious.
Easy Layered Pineapple Cake
- 1 box pineapple cake mix baked according to package directions
- 1 (20 ounce) can of crushed pineapple saving 4 Tablespoons for whipped topping
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tub whipped topping
Cinnamon to sprinkled on top, optional
Bake according to package directions. Cool.
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium heat. When the mixture begins to boil, stir constantly until it begins to thicken, approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Keep in mind that it will thicken even more as it cools. Cool.
Spread over cooled cake.
Let thaw and stir in 4 Tablespoons crushed pineapple.
Spread on top of cooled filling.
Sprinkle cinnamon to top, if desired.
Refrigerate before serving
