Easy Tortellini Italian Pasta. A homemade recipe that is the easiest way to get a delicious dinner meal.


Easy Tortellini Italian Pasta
  • 1 package three cheese Tortellini pasta
  • Italian sauce (recipe below)
  • shredded ricotta cheese for topping
Make Italian sauce:
  1. 1/2 cup olive oil
  2. 1 large onion, minced
  3. 3 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 4 cups water
  5. 2 (32 ounce) cans crushed diced tomatoes

  6. 1 (16 ounce) can tomato paste

  7. 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  8. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  9. 1 teaspoon white sugar
  10. salt and pepper to taste
  11. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Saute onion and garlic in hot oil until onion is translucent, 5 to 7 minutes.
  12. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add water, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, baking soda, and sugar; season with salt and pepper. Stir mixture, bring to a simmer, and cook until the sauce is thickened, about 2 hours.
Cook pasta as directed on package and drain.
  1. Pour sauce over pasta and add shredded cheese on top.

  2. Serve hot and enjoy.

Will make 12 servings.
