Stuffing should be fully cooked on its own before placing inside the turkey.
Bring cooked stuffing and raw turkey to room temperature before filling the bird—and only stuff it right before it goes into the oven to avoid contamination.
Stuffing will expand as it heats up, so don’t pack the cavity—it may cause uneven cooking.
Take the temperature of the meat and stuffing: A stuffed bird is cooked when the breast and stuffing each register 165°, and thigh is 175°.
