Sweet Honey Fried Biscuits

Sweet Honey Fried Biscuits. Serve for side dish or breakfast. Homemade makes them so delicious.


Sweet Honey Fried Biscuits
  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter diced
  • 2/3 cup milk
Honey Topping:
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cream of tartar. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles cornmeal. Add the milk and mix well. Knead dough about 15 times.
  2. Divide dough into 1/4 cup size portions. Roll into balls and pat to about 1/2 inch thickness. Stretch or cut each ball to form biscuit shape.
  3. Heat 1/2 cup oil in a large frying pan to medium high heat.
  4. Fry biscuits 3 to 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate.
Honey Topping:
  1. In a sauce pan combine all ingredients. Mix well and heat until warm.
  2. Brush on top of biscuits while both are still warm.
